I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the understanding and support that Asmik Ace has received over the years.
Founded in 1985, Asmik Ace has had a history of successfully expanding its business scope capitalizing on the change in market demand. Initially a distributor of consumer game and video software, we then entered into the acquisition / distribution business of foreign motion pictures. With the merger with Ace Pictures in 1998, we further expanded into planning / production of motion pictures, thus allowing us to become a “comprehensive entertainment company”, covering broad range from planning / production / acquisition / distribution of motion pictures, to distribution of packaging software, to licensing to TV channels and other content delivery services, and to international licensing.
In March 2012, we enhanced our capability to adjust to the rapidly changing business environment by becoming a part of media conglomerate Jupiter Telecommunications Co., Ltd (J:COM) group.
Furthermore, in December 2012, we added the video-on-demand business of Jupiter Entertainment, a subsidiary of J:COM. Through integration of this VOD business, we will be able to develop a new business model, one which will allow us to take advantage of our enhanced capabilities covering the content-related value chain, from planning / production / acquisition / distribution / packaging sales / TV and other content delivery services, of various contents including motion pictures.
By combining this new business model with our core strengths including relationship with clients, partners, vast library of foreign and domestic motion pictures, our talented staff members, and resources of J:COM group, which currently invests in and operates seventeen TV channels (one of the largest in Japan), we aim to develop a new concept for a successful entertainment business.
We have also changed our company name from “Asmik Ace Entertainment, Inc.” to “Asmik Ace, Inc.”, as it is our intention to make the name “Asmik Ace” to imply “an entertainment company geared for the next generation” without adding the word “Entertainment “. We will also define this re-creation of Asmik Ace as a “Second Foundation”.
As “New Asmik Ace”, we will make every effort to become a company trusted and beloved by all, through realizing our corporate values “to deliver “dreams” and “emotions”, and to “contribute to enriching our cultural society””, a foundation for every entertainment business.
